Marshall Kirkpatrick has posted an interesting comment related to my recent post on USA Today’s new RSS reader:
Though it is certainly important for almost all organizations to offer information in RSS format – I believe that an equally important question is “do you read RSS feeds, and if so how do you do so strategically?” As you argue here, there are only so many power users today – but there is serious competitive advantage to joining the ranks of those power users.
While some people will likely become power users of RSS without realizing it (thanks to new tools that use RSS from USA Today and others), I have to agree with Marshall… you will likely get more out of an RSS reader if you know what an RSS reader is and how it works and figure out exactly how it can help you do your job better.
So, have you considered how RSS could be used strategically for your company or organization?
